San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Manu Ginobili scored seven of his 12 points from the free throw line, including two in the closing seconds that proved to be the difference in the San Antonio Spurs 94-92 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. San Antonio continued its dominance over Atlanta, winning its 17th straight at home and 16th out of the last 17 overall against the Eastern Conference foe. Al Horford made a jumper at 1:16 of the fourth to give the Hawks a 90-88 lead. However, Ginobili made three free throws after he was fouled by Kyle Korver while shooting a 3-pointer to push San Antonio ahead by one. Following an empty possession from each team, Tim Duncan came up with a block on Korver with 24.9 seconds left. Duncan was then fouled off an inbounds pass, and split the pair at the line. Jeff Teague raced down the court and converted a running bank shot to tie the score at 92-92 with 13.6 seconds remaining. Ginobili brought the ball up court, drove the lane and kicked out to the corner, but he was fouled on the drive with 3.8 seconds showing and calmly hit both free throws to account for the final margin. Boris Diaw blocked Pero Antics last second heave from just inside halfcourt as the Spurs held on. We need to be sharper, execute better, and today we just didnt, said Ginobili. Duncan and Tony Parker each finished with 17 points, with the former grabbing 13 rebounds with six blocks, four assists and three steals. Kawhi Leonard and Diaw each scored 11 points in the win. DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap each tallied 17 points for the Hawks, while Horford netted 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Were going to make shots, said Millsap. Our main thing is getting out there and competing. We competed tonight. San Antonio raced out to a 27-15 lead after 12 minutes, then the margin swelled to a game-high 17 after Parker converted a three-point play and Diaw made a layup to begin the second quarter. Atlanta closed the frame on a 7-1 spurt to close within 49-39 at the half. The Hawks cut the deficit to six entering the fourth quarter and grabbed their only lead of the game when Horford capped a 9-2 run with over a minute left. Florida State overcame a 21-0 deficit for its 24th straight victory, with Cook giving the Seminoles the lead for good with a 38-yard run with 3:46 remaining. Out of sorts and on the verge of having its College Football Playoff prospects damaged, the Seminoles (8-0, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference, No. 2 CFP) recovered behind their Heisman Trophy quarterback and Cook, who had a 40-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. All of Winstons TD passes were big. He hit Travis Rudolph for 68 yards, Ermon Lane for 47, and Freddie Stevenson for the 35-yard clincher with 2:11 remaining. Winston was 25 of 48 for 401 yards. More important for the Seminoles was maintaining their national championship hopes on a night that Louisville (6-3, 4-3, No. 25 CFP) nearly took them away twice. The presence of Muhammad Ali was fitting in a game that the Cardinals initially dominated with a smashmouth approach that provided a 21-point first-half lead and knocked the Seminoles on the ropes. Michael Dyer had TD runs of 4 and 12 yards and Gerald Christian caught an 11-yard scoring pass from Will Gardner.dddddddddddd Florida State began its comeback just before halftime when Winston, shaking off two interceptions that Louisville turned into 14 points, led the Seminoles 78 yards on a drive that ended weird touchdown when Nick OLeary recovered Karlos Williams fumble in the end zone. The intermission gave Winston and Florida State time to regroup, though not before his third interception and second by Louisville safety Gerod Holliman. Ironically, Winstons biggest play came after the pickoff as he came up and stripped Holliman of the ball, which Travis Rudolph recovered at the Florida State 40. The Seminoles turned it over on downs but Winston found Rudolph wide open down the middle between two defenders for a 68-yard TD strike that cut it to 24-14 with 9:51 left in the quarter. Florida States swagger was back, and Cook turned it into a 40-yard touchdown run nearly 4 minutes later to bring the Seminoles within a field goal. Winstons TD pass to Lane with 12:48 left provided Florida States first lead and the game became a slugfest from there as Dyer answered for Louisville with a 1-yard TD run with 9:20 left. The Seminoles took charge from there with Cooks TD run and Stevensons pass from Winston.
